Ella McEwen Smith (b. 2000)
My life as an artist is rooted in a profound curiosity to make connections between my personal life, the universal human experience and contemporary social constructs. It delves into the complexities of the human psyche, examining individual and collective behaviours, as well as our functioning in society. I draw inspiration from our existence, communities, primal instincts, moments of euphoria and popular culture. Through my art, I offer a symbolic and satirical commentary on these themes, inviting viewers to engage in a contemplative dialogue.
