Natalka Newman (b. 2000) is a Czech/British artist living and working in London.
'My work explores a particular experience of time - fleeting, abrupt, discontinuous - and its relationship to a diverse range of subjects in an urban context. My approach involves collaged elements of photography, drawing, and text to engage with themes of the modern city's surrealistic, futuristic, and pre-apocalyptic nature, and the relationship of these themes to individual identity and fashion. I am particularly drawn to the post-industrial cityscape and its associated states of abandonment and decay, from which I aim to evolve abstract narratives that express a uniquely challenging and captivating visual experience.'
