Born in Italy, Matilde Converio ( @matildeconverio) is currently in her final year of Fine Art and Art History at Goldsmiths University. Her practice investigates how photography can be destabilised to break away from its traditional role of reproducing reality and to challenge established meanings.
She uses errors in her work as an opportunity to incorporate chance, the unknown and the cosmos. Converio works with light, vibrations, and altered photography to create installations that can expand in space. She is interested in creating pieces that blur the boundaries between tangible and intangible, allowing them to coexist.
