Collection: Tributaries

Marcel Croxson (1986, Cornwall) is an artist and designer working across installation and print. His work explores spatial transformation and aims to highlight the beauty of impermanence.

“For the past year and a half, I have been photographing the relationship between water and light whilst running along the river Thames in Deptford, London. By engaging with the tides and weather, I aimed to create a ‘river’ of photographs highlighting the fragility of urban water ecologies.

‘Tributaries’ is the first site-specific installation of this work and is composed of two rivers of 35mm photographs printed onto aluminium panels. The rivers occupy the gallery, forming spatial tributaries to the Thames that flows roughly perpendicular to Deptford High Street.”
